I’m an ADHDer and a parent of 2 children with ADHD. Growing up with a sibling who also had ADHD and having worked across various career paths, I've gained a multifaceted perspective on ADHD. My own ADHD diagnosis came as an adult, occurring after completing a master’s in social work program and stepping into my first full-time professional role.. As someone who always did well academically, it wasn’t until I was fully responsible for structuring my time at work AND home that my executive functioning difficulties became more visible. Looking back, I now recognize the signs that were present throughout my childhood. However, as a gifted female with a primarily inattentive presentation, these symptoms often went unnoticed.

The challenges of managing ADHD were further amplified with the birth of each of my children. Juggling the intricacies of my own life alongside keeping tiny humans alive pushed my executive functioning skills to their limits. When I suspected my oldest child might also have ADHD, I thought, "I know what it’s like to have ADHD, but I don’t know how to parent it.” This led me to a deep dive into learning everything I could about ADHD.

Even though I was working as social worker working in the behavioral health field, I had been taught extremely little about ADHD in college or professional development trainings. This knowledge gap extends to doctors and all types of mental health providers as well, leading ADHDers and their families to figure it out on their own.

In true ADHD fashion, I went down many rabbit holes of self-education devouring articles, books, research, and joining online groups to learn everything I could about ADHD. Through this process, I not only recognized the ways I had naturally accommodated my own needs but also gained invaluable insights into effective self-accommodation strategies for my areas of challenge. It led to shifting my parenting approach leading to remarkable improvements in my child’s emotional regulation and ability to complete tasks.

During my time working at a college, I initiated an ADHD support group for students, which quickly proved to very successful. This experience was not only gratifying but also provided me with a profound realization: I found my greatest fulfillment when collaborating with fellow ADHDers.

Working with me as your coach, you get the benefits of my YEARS of hyperfixation on learning everything I can about ADHD! I’ll give you the summary of what you need to know and save you time, shame, and headaches.

I practice from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective, meaning I view ADHD not as a problem to be cured, just a normal variation of human minds. My work is trauma informed, LGBTQ+ affirming and I strive to practice cultural humility. I believe my clients are the experts in their own lives and approach our work together in a collaborative way.

I’ve worked for over 15 years in mental and behavioral health fields as well as in higher education. I founded Embrace the Muchness LLC in 2022.
